We Do Like To Be Besides The Seaside

So with most of our little playmates off on their holibobs and the sun shining in the UK, we decided to have our very own little staycation and go off to Fleetwood Seafront for the afternoon. We are very lucky to have the beach just minutes away from our house so today we packed up and went to play besides the sea. Hubby is away for the next 2 days working down south so that leaves just me to entertain 2 kids ( again 😂). I love being outdoors with the sprogs and like to take advantage of any where free so with sun cream applied and a quick picnic hashed together we set off for Fleetwood.

First on the day’s agenda a bike ride on the prom.Harry has never peddled further than the bottom of the driveway but I think watching the Olympics had rubbed off on him as he sped off down the prom into the sunshine .Trying to get him to stop was the problem. Very sorry all the people we crashed into.Opps !! 😂😂 Next was a visit to the kids water fountains where Harry spent an hour running in & out of the dancing water. Charley decided to get in on the action and sit under one of the streams of water getting totally drenched. Most babies would scream but not Charley she went back for more. Two wet & now hungry kids later we set up the picnic on the grass and in Harry’s own words ‘had a relax ‘ ( it’s hard work being 4 ! ). I think since I have been on MAT leave I have made about 100 picnics and it does get a bit tedious making & packing them but it’s cheap & it’s quick to hand when hunger strikes. Now it was time for the famous Blue ice-cream at the outdoor cafe. The type that stains teeth , skins & hair.

A quick stop back at the fountains to wash the blue Smurf ‘s face and off to the beach . Charley hasn’t quite grasped putting the shells into a bucket. She just tried to chow down on each & everyone on the beach. Harry dug up most of the beach with his bare hands looking for buried treasure but sadly for all of us just found old cigarette butts . With the sun starting to cool off we had just enough time for a quick 20 minutes on the park ( inc a brother & sister bonding on the swing moment ) before we where back in the car and the 2 little angels felt fast asleep Z zzzzzzzzz ! Today cost for the day £1.60. Brilliant day was had by all and at total of £1.60 for a full afternoons activities a total bargain.
