5 Things I Have Learnt “The Morning After The Night Before”

1.Opening a bottle of cava and calling it a ‘ night cap ‘ after already drinking 2 bottles in the restaurant is a silly idea 🤕

2.  I am not a teenager anymore and must remember I can’t drink like one 🤔

3.  Giving your 4yr old carrot cake for breakfast is not acceptable (but I would give him a kidney right now to stop the screaming ) 😬

4.  Wearing sunglasses at 7am does ease the pain 😎

5.   Getting very , very , very drunk the night before hosting your daughters 1st Birthday Party is never a good idea 😱

Oh dear. Hangovers with kids are hell, but a kids birthday party to deal with?! I take my hat off to you, I don’t think I would have survived!

    • The UnNatural Mother says:

I survived , just ! I tried to get the other mums to have a glass of cava so i could have one but they all just stuck to tea. Probably best 🙂

  4. The mummy hangover cannot be any worse! I think I have done it twice and omg I don’t think that I can handle it! Yes I’m a wimp! Because I hardly get a chance to go out, when I go out.. I GO OUT. So the next day I am a mombie! Literal mum zombie! Great post because it is so true haha #sharingthebloglove

I’m like you. I haven’t been out in months so on Friday night i wanted more, more, more . Just wasn’t the best idea to do it the night before 20 under 4’s turn up for a party X

hahaha I have soo been here, especially number 1, why oh why do we always feel the need to open that last bottle or have that last drink! I have made that mistake too many times, that and drinking like a teenager, parenting with a hangover is the WORST. I hope that part wasn’t too traumatising for you… Thanks for linking at #familyfun, hope to see you again next week xx

I have only gone it a handful of times in 4 years but i have to say the hangover was well worth it for the fab time i had with my hubby and a long shower and a layer of makeup made me look alive for my daughters Birthday party X X

  6. Oh dear. Think we have probably all been there though. So appealing that evening but really there is NOTHING worse than having a hangover when in charge of little people is there?! Thanks for sharing on #fortheloveofBLOG x

  7. Uh oh. Not great having a hangover, what a night to pick just before your daughters birthday! thanks for linking up to #familyfun

  8. Oh god, there is nothing worse than a hangover with kids around, I just can’t face drinking more than 2 glasses these days – I also suffer with stonking hangovers now I’ve hit my 30’s! Hope you made it through the birthday party ok! Thanks so much for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove

  9. Oh no! Not the night before the party! As I am currently living through a hangover with kids I can safely say these lessons don’t seem to remain in the brain for long. The same mistakes will be made next time too.

Luckily the party was at my house and one of the other mummies brought a bottle of fizz so i had a small glass to take the edge of it X

  10. You know I love this post- the picture makes me giggle every single time. I wish I was drunk right now!

So do i !!! Im dealing with 2 vomiting children today. It took weeks at school for the 1st virus to hit our house . Errrrrrrrrr 🙁

  11. Kids and drinking in our house don’t mix. It’s a no go unless you are a glutton for punishment! Couldn’t help but chuckle, sun glasses do help! #KCACOLS

Haha seems like such an easy and obvious list but I guess it always seems like a good idea at the time! #justanotherlinky

  13. The Tale of Mummyhood says:

  15. Debbie says:

Love the honesty and I am sure it’s a place most of us have found ourselves at one point or another! Carrot cake is probably one of the better options for breakfast (the morning after), I can think of plenty worse….Or maybe not.

  16. Kat says:

Some true words of wisdom here! I can’t do nights out like I used to anymore, and even then they were pretty low key. #sharingthebloglove

  17. Jaki says:

I have learnt this lesson just a handful of times over the last four years and there really is nothing worse than looking after a child with the hangover from hell!! Let alone hosting a birthday party – bless you! You lived to tell the tale – well done you! #justanotherlinky

  18. Oh no! I am such a lightweight since having kids. I just can’t handle the thought of being hungover and not being able to nap on the sofa! I hope you were ok for the party. Thank you for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove x

  19. Maria says:

You gave him on if his five a day for breakfast – that’s a good thing!

What I want to know is how you survived the 1st Birthday party!

Thank you for linking up to #KCACOLS and I hope to see you back again on Sunday x

    • The UnNatural Mother says:

I survived the 1st Birthday by drinking 5 cups of tea and eating far too much Birthday Cake ! Harry may have had more cake for his breakfast the next day too X
