This is the 1st in my blog series ‘Parents Night Out’ where each week I will be sharing another bloggers/parents perfect night off from the kids. Nights out are few and far between for me but when I go out I love nothing more than putting on a posh frock ,wobbling about in some high heels and sipping on one too many cocktails. My normal partner in crime is my husband who is a very bad influence on me. Anyone who has read my post 5 Things I Have Learned – The Morning After The Night Before will know the next morning I am normally nursing a sore head.
Question time ………….
1.Tell me what you are wearing and why it’s your favourite going out outfit?
The dress is from H&M in Manchester and i brought straight after my ‘back to work’ chat with my boss. It cost £40 which i couldn’t really afford at the time but having finally lost the 2 stone of baby weight i put on with Charley i wanted to treat myself.I love anything Vivienne Westwood and the dress has the same silhouette as her designs.I added my trusty VW handbag and bracelet to finish off my outfit.
2.How often do you get to go on nights out?
Maybe once every 2 months ( Hubby is out every week ! )
3.Where is your favourite place to go on a night out? ( e.g. favourite bar / restaurant/concert )
When i have lots of money i love to go out in Manchester eat a big fat steak at Gaucho’s and then tour round all the cool bars drinking fancy cocktails and schmoozing.
4.How much do you normally spend on an outfit and where do you like to shop?
I am a bit of a charity shop fiend and normally manage to find a designer outfit for less than £10. If it’s a special occasion or i fancy a treat i will spend up to £80.
5.How long does it take you to get ready?
With 2 kids holding my ankles and following my every step 2-3 hours from start to end. Normally at least 1 of us has had a full scale breakdown before i get out the door.
6.What is your favourite drink?
I was and still am a huge Sex and the City fan so it has to be an Appletini.
7.Do you have a party trick?
I do a wicked performance of River Dance after a couple of Appletini’s. This is a travelling show and has been performed in Irish bars across the globe.
8.What’s the most you have ever spend on an item of clothing/accessory?
I used to ( cough, cough )have a handbag addiction so £300 on a Luella handbag but in my defense i still use it all the time.
9.What’s your No1 tip for getting ready with kids in the house?
Drink wine while getting ready. It eases the pain.
10.If you could have a night out anywhere in the world where would it be, why that location and what would you do on the night out?
My day job is working in travel so i have had the pleasure to sample the nightlife in some amazing places but by far the best restaurant and night out I have had has been with my hubby in a tiny Italian restaurant in Tenerife called First Love. The food is better than any Michelin Star restaurant and i swear they must pump happy gas out of the air conditioning as everyone is so loved up by the time they leave. Between the pasta & the Prosecco it’s so old school romantic that as soon as the music goes on everyone gets up and dances. It was during a meal there we decided we wanted to try for baby No2 ( we obviously waited until we had got back to the hotel room ). It’s name is also very poignant as i met my hubby when we were 20 years old and he was my First Love. (The bottomless Limoncello shots help with the atmosphere too)

Such a brilliant idea for a feature! I detest it when people say “Your social life is over when you have kids” It really doesn’t have to be! And it booming well shouldn’t be!
Popping over from, the super duper linky that is #anythinggoes
Haha, love your answer to question 9! If I did that though I’d be drunk before I left the house, I’m such a lightweight these days! x #KCACOLS
