This week’s featured Blogger the Dominique from prettythings2016blog . Dominique is a girl after my own heart and enjoys’ anything that glitters and an afternoon of crafting with her son. She also enjoys her time off from being a mummy so with a slick of Mac lipstick & a figure hugging dress Dominique is ready to hit the town ………..
Hi, I am called Dominique (Domi) I am 22 and I have a two-year-old called Logan. I work as a support worker and love my job, I would love to be a stay at home mum but that would not pay our bills. My partner is called Rob and I could not ask for a better father figure for our son. I am a big believer in me time, a rare but Cherished moment to myself is always much-needed. As mothers, it’s important to have times to ourselves; even if it is just a bubble bath (that lasts ten mins). I started blogging three months ago, I needed something for myself, a place I could get lost in my own thoughts. I have loved meeting new people, here are my answers before I waffle on…
1. Tell me what you are wearing and why it’s your favourite going out outfit?
I love wearing a tight dress, I am very lucky with the way my body bounced back after having my son. I love to get out of my daily boring clothes and sometimes just dress up pretty and not have food wiped on me from my son. I also love to match my outfit with my favourite Mac lipstick (Ruby woo) I need a good pout with those rare selfies.
2. How often do you get to go on nights out?
At least once a month, I work, clean and run around all the time for my family; happily. So I like to treat myself to a few naughty drinks, to have a rare catch up with my girls away from our kids. Even just a film night over at my friend’s house and a pizza I enjoy, I guess I call time to myself a treat.
3. Where is your favourite place to go on a night out? ( e.g. favourite bar / restaurant/concert )
Favourite place… Hmm, I would say little old Penzance my hometown. I am not one for a big adventure or a hangover to regret in the morning. I like to have a little dance in our local club called Up bar, then crawl home drunk from my three drink (I am an absolute light weight)
4. How much do you normally spend on an outfit and where do you like to shop?
I love Topshop, I do try to shop in Newlook to budget. I find Topshop clothes such a better quality, I should hope they are as well considering the prices. Saying that I don’t buy a new outfit for each night out, mainly special occasions; Halloween, Birthdays, Christmas etc.
5. How long does it take you to get ready?
Hours, I love doing the whole fake tan and glam night makeup look. I also have long hair, curling it takes up a good portion of my time getting ready I think the getting ready part is the best part of the night, I do not have time for that these days with work and a toddler.
6. What is your favourite drink?
Malibu, I use to drink wine but Oh boy that hangover the stuff gives me. I went out a few weeks ago and stupidly forgot why I do not drink wine anymore, my head hurt for days after. Malibu and coke hmm now I fancy one tonight.
7. Do you have a party trick?
I have the best party trick girls! Do no shots, no wine and keep to one drink (type that is, who just has one drink out?!); finish the night off with a burger and BAM… you wake up with no hangover. A night out and feeling fresh the next day, what more could a girl want.
8. What’s the most you have ever spent on an item of clothing/accessory?
I am really good and think the most I have paid for something is a dress I own that was £40, I would cry spending loads on one item… when I could buy a few things instead.
9. What’s your No1 tip for getting ready with kids in the house?
Do not fake tan, no it is not worth it. Hey mum let me just wipe my wet hands on your new bronzed legs, ah look there’s your pale skin. I would also advise putting your outfit on last thing, my first night out after having my son ended up with baby sick on it.
10. If you could have a night out anywhere in the world where would it be, why that location and what would you do on the night out?
If I had the chance for a night away, anywhere I would have a family weekend away. I love a night out, I love having fun but I can also have fun with my family, I would love for use to go to Disney land. I would totally bring my mum and my partner and I enjoy some night life there ha! – I am such a mum, the old before a child I would have said Malia or Zante; how things change.
