Introducing Nat from Plutonium Sox. A girl after my own heart who thinks that a glass is not needed when drinking champagne and a huge fan of baking. Ranked N014 blogger in the UK by Tots 100 and riding high to be in the top 10 next year, so without further ado, i give you Nat
I am a freelance writer and blogger from Worcestershire. I’m married with two little girls and two big dogs! I like to attempt to keep fit when I get time but I’m rubbish at the gym so I set myself silly challenges instead. I once went to the Isle of Wight on a boat and swam back to the mainland and last month I did a 50-mile ultramarathon with my dog.
Ooh eek, it’s not really my favourite going out outfit, it’s just a photo I love from my hen do. I had no intention of having a hen do, but there was a water polo tournament in Amsterdam the weekend before I got married. So I trooped over there with the team and we treated it as a hen do. We dressed up as referees in outfits from Ann Summers and piled onto a boat with 200 water polo players. The boat sank and we all had to bail out and find the nearest pub. We were still drunk when we played water polo the following morning and I got smacked in the mouth and had a delightful thick lip for my wedding. Oops!
Not often enough! I try to get out once a month now that I can finally leave the girls. When I do go out I always make the most of it and have a brilliant night because I don’t do it often enough.
Dinner with cocktails/drinks at a bar and then some dancing to end the night. Usually to cheesy music somewhere with a sticky floor.
Oh, I rarely spend anything on an outfit. I wear something I have already or maybe pick something up from a charity shop for a few quid. I don’t like to buy new clothes, I’m not keen on the fashion industry or the sweat shops or the unnecessary waste of purchasing new outfits every time you go out.
Half an hour if I’ve got plenty of time but I’ve been known to be out of the door in five minutes since becoming a parent!
Oh wow, what a question! It depends on the time of year. Always love a cocktail – strawberry daiquiri made with fresh fruit or a margarita. In the summer I love gin and tonic or cider, in winter usually red wine or mulled wine depending on how close to Christmas it is.
Not a party trick as such but I do see it as some sort of public service to tell everyone exactly what I think of them when I’m drunk. You know the sort of people who can be rude and obnoxious and you just wish someone would tell them what they think of them? Well, I’m that someone. If I catch someone being rude or arrogant when I’ve had a few then heaven help them.
Ooh um, my wedding dress I suppose. That was £500 from a shop called Barnardo’s Brides by Appointment. It had been worn on the catwalk at a vintage fashion show and donated to Barnardo’s.
Oh, my tip is definitely not to do it. Go somewhere else to get ready. If you absolutely have to then wait until they’re asleep or put something really amazing on the television. And definitely take it in turns to get ready if there are two of you hoping to go out.
Well, when we were on our honeymoon we spent a few days in Sydney. My husband was desperate for a night out but I had a sneaking suspicion I might be pregnant so I made excuses and we went home early. He hasn’t forgiven me and probably won’t do so until I make up for it and we have a massive night out there. So it would be Sydney with my husband just so he stops sounding like a broken record. We’d eat dinner in a Michelin starred restaurant, drink cocktails in a smart bar and probably find somewhere suitably awful and cheesy to go dancing. And I’d persuade my two good friends and my cousin who live in New Zealand to come over and join us because I miss them all and don’t see them often enough.

Oh but we did used to have so many girls night out – pre-boyfriends. So much fun. Lots of dancing and drinking. Good times.
I love the way Nat that you basically covered all drinks. Would have been a shorter list to say what you wouldn’t drink!
