Yes, you read correctly. I, a mummy of 2 got in a bath all on her own. No children, no husband, no plastic bath toys. I actually achieved the impossible and spent 20 minutes soaking in the bath with no interruptions. I know many mummies have not sat in a bath or even a chair uninterrupted for many a year but I want to remind you the sheer bliss that is bathing alone. This bath was not a spur of the moment act but a well-planned military operation. I have only 1 day in the week when I can pull off the mission so on Monday with hubby working away, Harry at school and Charley fast asleep in her cot, I set about preparing my ‘Me Time’. If I have little guests in the bath with me then I use whatever child-friendly slime coloured concoction I can find on the shelf but for Monday’s treat, I need some luxury so I used AA Skincare’s Amla & Clary Sage Bath & Shower Gel.
The company had kindly sent me the bottle and like a good champagne, it had been sat in the cupboard waiting for a special occasion. I will be honest and say I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy being sat in a bath smelling of Clary Sage as I spent 4 hours ( I kid you not ) sat in a bath filled with Clary Sage oil in hospital desperately trying to get my contractions to start so not an occasion I wanted to reminisce on, but within minutes my memories melted away and I was sent into a trance of blissful silence. I am not very good at switching off so if I am not driving up & down the M6 attending work meetings, I am at home trying to juggle entertaining 2 under 5’s with updating my blog. I have tried meditating to relax but just end up mentally writing the ALDI shopping list in my head and Yoga is a form of torture as far as I am concerned. My ultimate way to destress is a good old fashioned bath with plenty of bubbles and only me occupying the space. The smell of the Amla & Clary Sage Bath & Shower Gel was amazing and when you throw on a facemask, stick a deep conditioner in your hair and light a few candles you have yourself a DIY spa experience. My ‘Me Time’ is limited to 1 hour including washing & drying my hair so an added benefit of the Amla & Clary Sage Bath & Shower Gel is it’s full of essential oils like Cedarwood & Spikenard so there was no need to waste time with body lotion afterwards. So a quick dry off with the only towel that doesn’t feature a Disney character on it and back to mummy duties, feeling a little less stressed and ready to brave the school run once again.
AA Skincare has a range of skincare available to purchase online & selected shops. With both Valentines & Mothers Day coming up soon their products would make the perfect gift for the women in your life. *AA Skincare were kind enough to send me a bottle of the Amla & Clary Sage Bath & Shower Gel for purposes of this review but all the thought and opinions are my own.

My kids are older now so I do get a bath to myself, but, they do still knock on the door asking me questions that could wait til I got out (ie what’s for dinner, can you iron my top). The bath and shower gel sounds lovely. It is so nice to spoil yourself and use something “posh” in the bath now and then. I hope you get more hot baths in the future 😉
I attempted this on Wednesday night, it was totally unplanned (first mistake) I snook off, ran a bath before I’d even dipped a toe in j was hunted down and the two little darlings!!!! Jumped in! Peace averted , me time stolen! I’ll try again x
Oh that sounds perfect. I love a good bath but I really can’t remember the last time I had one to myself!
Ooh that looks lovely! I never have time for a bath these days but I do keep promising myself one. What has it come to when a bath is considered a treat??!
I save my best products too! Glad I’m not the only one to do this. Bath time is my absolute favourite too, it’s quite hard getting one to myself now that Elodie is tall enough to climb into the bath herself. Lol! xx
It’s sad that your “me-time” is limited to one hour, but sounds like you’ve found the perfect use for it. Love the sound of this stuff, and I need some new bath products!
This looks so lovely, it’s such a treat to be able to get in the bath and relax without a plastic duck or child in sight!
