WHAT TO PACK : HAND LUGGAGE ONLY

We are off to Tenerife in a couple of weeks and after checking the price of putting a suitcase in the hold we have decided to only take hand luggage.We are staying in an apartment with a washing machine so it’s not as bad as it sounds but still this is going to be a challenge. Lee can travel with next to nothing and surprisingly the kids are quite easy to pack for but me, I normally take everything inc the kitchen sink so minimal packing is going to take some getting used to. 

With both kids off and Lee working away there is no way I can have a leisurely afternoon at the shops and I don’t have the time to sit on the internet flicking through numerous websites so I am a huge fan of Love The Sales who has all my favourite high street & designer brands in one place. With this in mind, I have put together my capsule holiday wardrobe that when mixed and matched will see me through a 7-day sunshine stay. 

Whats In The Case 

Clothes 

2 Pairs of Shorts  – 1 pair of denim shorts which can be worn during the day with your bikini and then dressed up at night with an off the shoulder top. 1 pair of smart shorts which are perfect for day excursions or a relaxed meal with the Hubby. 

2 Bikini’s & 1 Swimsuit  – We all buy loads of swimsuits & bikini’s and we all end up wearing the same 3 over and over so why waste space packing more than you will wear? 

1 Cover Up – You just need one fabulous cover up. 

1 Tshirt & 1 Nice Top  – T Shirt for day wear and a nice top to mix & match with shorts at night.

1 Long Dress  & 1 Playsuit  – Both quick & easy items to throw on for a meal at a fancy restaurant. Add the necklace for even more glitz. 

Underwear

5 Pairs of Knickers  – Either give them a quick wash in the sink or pop them in the machine if you have access to one.

1 Multiway Bra – Save space and invest in a good multi-way bra. Not only will you save space but time & money shopping.

Shoes 

1 Pair of Flip Flops & 1 pair of Espadrilles   – You have small kids, you need to run after them. Heels are a no-no. For daytime all you need is flip-flops and at night a cute pair of espadrilles will go with everything.  

Make-Up & Accessories 

BB Cream SPF 50, Chubby Stick ( lips & cheeks ), Waterproof mascara, Sunscreen SPF 50  – No one has the time or the will to put a full face of makeup on each morning but why not add a bit of coverage to your SPF with a 50+ BB cream. Use a Chubby stick for lips & cheeks and add a couple of slicks of your favorite waterproof mascara. 

Sunhat – The bigger the better. Burnt noses and red cheeks are definitely not in this year

Sunglasses – These are a must and a pair of classic Raybans will last you 10 years. Well worth the investment 

1 Pair Earrings & Statement Necklace – A pair of simple earrings will work well day & night and if you can’t wear a big colourful statement necklace on holiday when can you wear one?
