Who Is The UnNatural Mother ?

So who is the UnNatural Mother? Some of you may know me pretty well by now but some of you may only just have started following me. I have wanted to do an updated Q&A for quite a while so it was perfect timing when I was nominated by Donna from What The Red Head Said  to answer the below questions and let my readers know who I really am. I hope you enjoy getting to know me a little better.

When was the last time you cried?

I am a total wet blanket. Since having kids I can’t watch anything slightly sad without shedding a few tears. My most recent blubber was at my son’s Easter show at his school last week. I do have to add they were tears of joy as he is a little Superstar and I was so proud of him.

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

Yes, I am a nice person. My mum always said ‘It’s nice to be nice’ and that how I live my life and bring up my children. I am extremely genuine too and loyal to my close-knit circle of friends.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Every another word??? I use sarcasm far too much but it’s part of my personality. I use it to make people laugh but never to be rude.

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Their eyes. I am a big believer that someone’s eyes can tell you a lot more about a person than their mouth ever can. I fell instantly in love with Lee the 1st time we met as he has the most beautiful brown eyes and I couldn’t stop staring at them while we were talking. I love talking to people and having full eye contact with them. One of my biggest pet peeves is people looking away while you are trying to have a conversation with them.

Scary movie or happy endings?

Happy Ending. I am a total romantic and love any type of feel good, happy ending Hollywood mush. I enjoy my sleep too much so nightmares about killer clowns or aliens attacking Earth is definitely not on my ‘must watch’list.

Favourite smells?

Lavender oil to soothe and calm after a stressful day.

The smell of the Lime, Basil & Mandarin Candle from ALDI

Harry & Charley’s freshly washed hair

The smell of Blue Jeans eau de toilette by Versace takes me back to when I first started dating Lee 16yrs ago.

What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?

Thailand is the furthest distance I have ever travelled, but as I worked in the travel industry for 12 years I have visited a lot of countries through work trips & holidays.

Do you have any special talents?

I can fake Irish Dance, good enough that people believed I was one of the original cast of River Dance ???  ( don’t ask )

As Lee is awful at DIY  I have had to learn to do it so I am now an expert at putting flat pack furniture together.

Where were you born?

Blackpool !!  Me & Lee moved to Preston for 10 years but as soon as we had kids we moved back to our hometown.

What are your hobbies?

I don’t think I have any official hobbies. My blog is my ‘happy place’ so I use this as my hobby and if you count shopping then that too.

I am hoping to take up golf soon as I have always wanted to give it a try, so watch this space.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City. She always looked like she was having fun and to have her closet would have been worth anything.

How many countries have you been to?

About 15. I am pretty well-travelled.

What was your favourite/worst subject in School?

Favourite was drama as I am a total Drama Queen and love being the centre of attention ( at least I am honest )

Worst was maths as I just don’t see the point of algebra or when I would ever use it in adult life.

What is your favourite drink?

During the day a nice cup of Yorkshire Tea but at night it has to be an Appletini Cocktail.

What would you (or have you) name your children?

Harry  & Charley-Rose. After naming Harry and meeting the other 3,00000000 called Harry we wanted something a bit different for our 2nd child. We had a gender scan done at 19 weeks and it took a long time to get the results as Charley was in the totally wrong position. They told us we were having a girl but we decided to choose a name that could be used for a boy or a girl. When we went to register the birth I decided I wanted her first name double barreling to Charley-Rose instead of having a first and middle name.

Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?

Lydia Elise Millen

In The frow

Carly Rowena

How many boyfriends have you had?

About 8 ????  I have been with Lee since I was 20 so not a huge amount.

Favourite memory from childhood?

Meeting Mickey Mouse at a Travel show when I was about 5 years old. This was at Blackpool Winter Gardens. It took another 22 years to actually cross the pond and meet him in Florida.

How would you describe your fashion sense?

Contradicting itself !!  I am either dressed to the nines in head to toe designer pieces or wearing my Primark mummy clothes for running around after the kids. I never seem to have a middle ground. Today’s outfit is black dungaree’s, an old T-shirt and converse trainers. Tomorrow I am going into the office in heels, a leather shirt and a silk blouse.

Tell us one of your bad habits!

Biting my nails. I normally have beautifully manicured nail extensions done but when on occasion I don’t my nails are a total bitten mess. It’s a disgusting habit but like any addiction, it’s been a hard one to conquer.

I hope that you feel you know a little more about the Blogger behind The UnNatural Mother. If you have any questions you would like to ask me then leave them in comments below. I now nominate Jen, Maria ,Becky & Georgina to fill their readers in on all their deep, dark secrets.
