Top Spring To Summer Style Tips #Gifted

Summer style

With the British weather changing its mind every other minute none of us can count on the sun this summer. So do we all just hang onto our woolly jumpers and thermal vests for a few months longer or should we pray the sun finally coming out of hibernation? This time of year is always the hardest for planning your outfit. The winter winds may have blown away but the rain is still coming down in buckets and your sunglasses can stay packed away in their cases. So how do we all dress for these in-between months? We want to be stylish but comfortable and we want clothes readily available to us on the high street or at the click of a button. None of us is the perfect shape we want to be and the high street can be a cruel mistress to anyone over a size 10. That’s why I have come up with some style tips that would take any lady no matter her age or size from Spring to Summer without breaking the bank.

Here are a few quick & simple tips on how to transition your wardrobe from Spring to Summer.

  1. Update your underwear and get rid of your baggy knickers and bras and invest in body shaping knickers and a well-fitting t-shirt bra.
  2. Add a pop of colour to your outfit, whether it be a red handbag or a rose gold ballet pump this will automatically make you feel like it’s summer.
  3. Start using a gradual tanner now so when you do dare to bare your skin you will have a lovely subtle bronze glow. A couple of products I recommend are St.Tropez In Shower Gradual Tan  & James Read H2o Tan Mist
  4. Buy some statement jewellery to jazz up a plain outfit. My Becci necklace was from onecklace.co.uk and always makes me feel like Carrie Bradshaw when I wear it.
  5. Swap your liquid foundation for a mineral powder one as this is much lighter on the skin and use a brighter lipstick. Instead of nudes and plum colours change to a subtle pink or go wild with a hot fuchsia shade.
  6. Exchanging your normal converse for espadrilles. Helps you feel a bit more summery and makes your legs look longer.
  7. Painting your toenails and making your feet look nice. If you are after those sparkly sandals, this goes hand in hand.
  8. A fresh haircut, and usually lighten the colour a touch so that it doesn’t feel so hot and heavy on warmer days.
  9. A leather jacket! A nice layer when it’s still breezy, but can easily wear a summer top underneath!
  10. Wear floaty cami tops that can be layered with a t-shirt under it or with chunky cardi and jeans.
