Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation – Review

Finding the perfect foundation is like looking for the Holy Grail. You can spend years searching but never really find what you need. I have tried everything from high-end Tom Ford to pocket-friendly PoundLand. Like you, my skin can change with the seasons so a foundation that looks and feels great in summer, appears patchy and discoloured in winter.

My Introduction to the Charlotte Tilbury brand came a couple of years ago in the form a ladies evening at a local restaurant. We were all treated to makeup demos and a goody bag full of sample to trial at home. I have to say hand on heart I wasn’t a fan at that point.

So how did I come to give her a second chance?

After months of trying drug store brands and my favourite BB cream being discontinued, I found myself drawn to the Charlotte Tilbury counter. Picking the correct shade was a  bit more difficult than usual due to the COVID restrictions, I had to do my own patch test instead of the assistant helping me. We did finally agreed that shade 4 ( fair ) would be the best choice as it was just slightly lighter than my own skin tone and with the addition of bronzer and blush it would make the perfect base.

What Charlotte says about it :

Darlings, my Light Wonder Foundation in Fair 4 is a neutral peach shade light coverage foundation for light to medium skin tones with cool undertones. Featuring ingredients to give you minimised pores, decreased wrinkles, hydrated, smooth & illuminated skin.

WHAT MAKES LIGHT WONDER FOUNDATION MAGIC:

What I say about it :

So I may as well say it straight away, I love it !!! I have never worn a foundation like it. Its super light, buildable if required and feels like velvet. A tip I got from the CT assistant was to give it a good shake before I applied it. It’s a very runny liquid so a little goes a long way. I do tend to set it with a loose powder before adding bronzer to blush but my skin never feels overloaded or dry. It can be used as a primer before fuller coverage foundations but I am more than happy with the results on its own. Prices of Light Wonder can differ between the website and online beauty stores but I  paid the full price of £34.00 and still feel it’s worth every penny. The claims of 18hrs I can not confirm but can certainly say I have worn it for 8hrs plus without it going patchy or uneven. I would say I am now a total convert to Light Wonder by Charlotte Tilbury. I definitely feel that my search for the perfect foundation is over and would happily recommend it anyone in need of the perfect base.
